In India caste discrimination is going on from several
years and it is only because of Hinduism, illiteracy .for many year Dalit
grooms were not allowed to sit on horse in their brat. Today also after
independence of India Dalit grooms are not allowed. In hathras there is a case
of this issue. a man who was forced by the high caste Thakurs not to sit on the
horse, his name is Sanjay jatav, his wedding was fixed with Shittal of Nijampur
village in kasganj .the Sanjay was warn by the Thakurs of that village that he
cannot sit oh horse during his barat because he belongs to SC and that village
is of Thakurs. At that Sanjay replied them that if they have power so stop me
from siting on horse during my barat. Sanajy went to police station but the
police didn’t helped her instead of helping him police delayed his wedding for
three months saying that bride is teenager but police was wrong, after not
getting help from police he meet with yogi adityanath Uttar Pradesh chief
minister as he also belong to Thakur caste he decline to help him, then Sanjay
went to high court but same he didn’t get any help. Sanjay didn’t lose his hope
then he went to Supreme Court and from their he get help.
When his barat arrived in the village the number of police officers were more than the number of baraties. There were 1 IPS rank, 10 inspectors, sub inspectors, 80 head constables, 15 women police officers and there was lock on Thakurs homes. police was standing on roofs of houses to maintain the environment at that time. The government had to spend three times the money that Sanjay spend on her relatives. This created a confidence for those who are suppressed on the name of caste.
